Easy Distressed Card

Saturday, March 11, 2017

Hi crafters! Today is my first post using the dies from the Tutti Designs February release.   This collection features dies as I would say from the Orient.  You will see a Kimono, a Pagoda which I used for my post today along with some papers from the Graphic 45 "Bird Song" collection which could not be a better match right?!!

So, I went with a more vintage look.  First, I scored some black paper at 5x6.5 then I added a layer of baeige cardstock and used hm... not sure what this thing is, but it is like an old fashioned shaving razor, but with sharp teeth it works beautifully at creating a distressed edge to the paper.
Then I used some Tim Holtz distress ink in "Walnut Stain" to give it an more distressed look.  Then I used another piece of Graphic 45 paper for an additional layer.  I tore an opening along the top just for a vintage old fashioned or tattered feel.  Then I fussy cut some of the images from the Graphic 45 papers to create the background.  I fussy cut a girl from the Orient and places her behind the Pagoda.  Then added a sentiment and some rhinestone trim to brighten the pagoda!

Here is a closeup where you can really see the pagoda.  I really loved how this turned out!
Really hoping you enjoyed my post and would love to hear your comments.

Welcome Baby Card

Wednesday, March 8, 2017
Hi crafters! Today I am here sharing a card I made for Frantic Stamper using the March Sweet Baby release!  Although I have no more tiny babies I have big babies who act like little babies so does this count??!!
I used the Toy Giraffe and Ornate Edger from the February release to make my card today. I popped on a gold foil sentiment to Welcome the new baby, well to welcome someone's baby lol....

Hope everyone enjoyed my card and thanks for stopping by!

Any Occasion Card & Foamiran Tutorial

Saturday, March 4, 2017

Hi crafters! Today I am here sharing a card perfect for any occasion using the following Tutti Designs dies: Garden Background TUTTI-170 & Nesting Stitched Rectangles TUTTI-217 . I used some patterned paper from Heartfelt Creations with the Garden die for the background and then I used the stitched rectangle as the focal point on the card for my sentiment and embellishments. Once I diecut the rectangle I embossed the paper to sort of fancy it up...
For the flower I used some foamiran which yes I have grown addicted to (love this stuff).  I used a flower punch to punch out some flowers as seen below.  Once you have your flower using some tweezers lay each flower on your heated iron.  This causes the foamiran to melt.  As you see in the 4th photo it begins to curl or cup.
Next form some buds with each flower and then you can ink the centers to give it some added color and depth.
For my flowers I used 3 layers.  Unfold each flower bud and with a heat gun adhere them to one another staggering each one.
Below is my completed card with everything pieced together.  I added a chipboard sentiment and inked it so it pops off the paper and remember to "Love Life" for it is the only one you have!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed my post and thanks for stopping by!

St Paddy's Day - Clock

Hi crafters! Today I am here using my Deflecto Craft acrylic frame: 4x6 Craft Frame - Green that I turned into my St. Patricks Day desk clock. I found a leprechaun clipart and fussy cut him out and used him as the centerpiece for the clock.  So here my leprechaun spins around telling you the time lol!!
I used my SRM #48095 extra large for the numbers and #55004 Thanks for the decorative trim.  The clock pieces I actually kept from an old clock I had.  I never seem to throw much away these days... wonder if hoarding is a problem!

I hope everyone enjoyed my post for today and thanks for stopping by!
